Experienced, accountable, and committed to building homes and community for Kenyans worldwide.
Our Management Committee carries responsibility for the governance, financial stewardship, and strategic direction of the Society. Each officer brings professional expertise that directly serves our members and our mission.
Robert Ogugu is the Chairman and founding leader of Kenyans in Ireland Housing Co-operative Society Ltd, a registered housing co-operative established to mobilize savings and create structured property investment opportunities for Kenyans living in Ireland.
He holds a Master of Arts in Sociology (Community and Social Regeneration) from the University of Limerick, and brings extensive experience in community mobilisation and organisational development, having worked in diverse capacities in both Kenya and Ireland.
Robert possesses a strong understanding of social gentrification, community dynamics, and inclusive development, knowledge that is critical in land acquisition, housing planning, and sustainable community development.
He has successfully led the Society from concept to a fully registered and operational institution, establishing robust governance frameworks, clear by-laws, and transparent financial systems that position the organisation for long-term sustainability and growth.
His leadership is defined by strategic foresight, institutional discipline, and a commitment to building credible, well-governed structures. He is dedicated to advancing diaspora-driven investment models that promote financial inclusion, collective wealth creation, and access to secure and sustainable housing.
Luka Mwangi serves as Vice-Chairman of the Management Committee, with primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the co-operative and the coordination of all active projects. He works closely with the Chairman to ensure that decisions made at the committee level are effectively implemented across all functions of the Society.
With a strong background in operations management and community engagement, Luca is the principal point of contact for member relations — ensuring that every member feels heard, informed, and supported throughout their journey with the co-operative. He is focused on building systems that scale sustainably as the membership grows.
Luka is also instrumental in strengthening the co-operative's communication frameworks, ensuring that updates on housing projects, financial performance, and committee decisions reach members clearly and on time. His role is critical to maintaining the trust and confidence that members place in the Society.
Collins Kipchirchir Koech serves as Honorary Secretary of the Management Committee, holding full responsibility for the official documentation, meeting records, regulatory compliance, and formal correspondence of the co-operative. His role is foundational to the integrity of the organisation — ensuring that every decision, resolution, and commitment is properly recorded and accessible.
Collins holds a Master of Science in Network and Information Security, bringing a rigorous, technical approach to documentation management, data governance, and information systems. His academic background in security and systems thinking is directly applied to ensuring the Society's records are accurate, protected, and audit-ready at all times.
He has been instrumental in building the co-operative's compliance framework from the ground up, ensuring the organisation meets all its obligations under the Co-operative Societies Act (Cap 490) of Kenya, maintains current records for regulatory review, and keeps the membership fully informed of all governance proceedings.
Collins' work provides the audit trail that gives members, partners, and regulators confidence in the co-operative's operations — making transparency not just a stated value, but a verifiable standard.
Elvis James Kamau serves as Treasurer of the Management Committee, with full responsibility for the financial management, reporting, and stewardship of co-operative funds. He oversees member contribution tracking, project budgets, audit processes, and all financial reporting made available to members through the Society's digital platform. A co-founder of the Society alongside the Chairman, he brings both founding vision and financial discipline to the committee's leadership.
Elvis holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Network and Information Security. His dual academic expertise in software engineering and information security has been critical in building the co-operative's automated management platform — a fully integrated digital system that manages member registrations, contribution tracking, financial reporting, governance records, and project updates in real time.
As the principal architect of the Society's technology infrastructure, Elvis designed and developed the platform from the ground up, applying industry-standard security practices and scalable architecture to ensure the system is robust, secure, and built to grow with the organisation. The platform gives every member clear, real-time visibility into how their contributions are being deployed — eliminating ambiguity and embedding transparency into the Society's operations at a systemic level.
In his financial role, Elvis has introduced disciplined reporting frameworks that keep the Society audit-ready at all times, ensuring that funds are managed with the accountability and precision that member-owned organisations demand.
Our Management Committee operates under a clear mandate, with defined roles and controlled financial authority at every level. Every action is governed by the Society's By-Laws and the Co-operative Societies Act (Cap 490) of Kenya. No unilateral decisions. No unchecked spending.
Full financial records are maintained and made available to members through the digital platform — so you always know where your money is and what it is building.
